Community Internship

with the Stowe at Wichelstowe, Swindon.

Are you interested in Community Engagement in a Pioneering context?

We are looking for a Community Intern

About The Stowe

The Stowe Baptist Church, founded by Rev. Ali Boulton and her team, is a church for the unchurched based on a new build development in Swindon. We are neither urban nor rural but an interesting combination of the two.

About the role

Overseen by the Children and Families worker, we are looking for someone to work with all age groups within the community in a variety of settings both Christian and secular, both informal and structured.

Ideally we are looking for a candidate who would be able to stay with us for a year, and the start date can be flexible based on your circumstances.

About you

You will be a person who wants to gain experience in community work and/or learn about Incarnational Mission in practice.

We do also often welcome people to The Stowe on shorter placements – contact us if this is of interest.

Practicalities

This is an unpaid role, but food and accommodation will be provided along with a positive and inspiring learning experience tailored around your interests. There is also the opportunity to gain a vocational qualification.

Parallel to the practical community work you will be encouraged to explore and develop your faith through an assortment of spiritual and analytical activities.
